Dancehall has always been G Maffiah’s focus, whether writing for

accomplished Artistes or dropping rhymes on a new beat. Born Ian

Ramsay, he hails from Thompson Pen, a small district outside of Spanish

Town in Jamaica. A graduate of the St Catherine High School, the deejay

accredits his musical journey to having initially performed in church,

garnering much attention there, after which he ventured into performing on

the community platform at a tender age of 14.

G Maffiah was featured in the Energize medley video along with Aidonia,

Bounty Killa and Mavado. He has worked with prominent producers such

as Troyton, Seanizzle, Ward 21, and Snow Cone. Described by some as a

lyrical prowess; music is clearly his passion. His creative writing skills are

attributed to listening to various genres of music. This has led him to work

with several renowned Jamaican Artistes such as Bounty Killa, Macka

Diamond and Mr. Peppa. He has performed in the Caribbean, in the

Americas and also the United Kingdom.

G Maffiah currently resides in the UK, where he has established his own

“Ghetto Dreams,” slated to be distributed by 21st Hapilos. The LP boasts

12 tracks including ‘We Nuh Sponge’ produced by DJ Kunteh (Kingston)

and Wegoin.com (UK) on the Star Rave Riddim. This latest single is now

being promoted and fans can be on the lookout for a music video. “We

Nuh Sponge” is evidence that G Maffiah is in tuned to the current

vibrations of Jamaican dancehall music.
